Support for iPhone app and account issues

Getting started checklist

  • Sign in to sync templates, rules, and settings across devices.
  • Enable Screen Time authorization from onboarding or Insights.
  • Create a Block List and pick at least one app or category.
  • Apply a Focus Pathway and verify the next gate appears on Home.

Blocking and gates

  • PurposeGate gates appear when a blocked app is opened during active blocks.
  • Use "Stop Current Block Session" for a temporary check-in window.
  • Use "Stop All Blocks" only when you want all gating paused.
  • Use "Resume Blocking" to re-enable blocking after a pause.

Coach chat and templates

  • Coach chat uses threads. Create separate threads for different goals.
  • The coach can draft templates with schedules, alternatives, and check-in prompts.
  • Review generated templates before applying them to live blocking.
  • If the coach appears offline, confirm backend connectivity in app settings.

Billing and PurposeGate Pro

  • Manage subscriptions from the in-app Customer Center or App Store.
  • Restore purchases from Profile/Settings if Pro does not unlock automatically.
  • Pro users should no longer see paywall-only onboarding paths after restore.
  • If entitlement state is stale, force-close and relaunch, then use Restore.

Troubleshooting

Apps are not blocking

Open Block Lists and confirm at least one app or category is selected, then ensure Screen Time permission is approved and tap Resume Blocking.

Widget Start/Stop does not affect focus

Launch the app once after install, then test the widget again. If needed, remove/re-add the widget so it reconnects shared app state.

Coach messages fail

Check internet access, confirm account sign-in, and verify backend base URL is reachable. Retry in the same thread first.

Screen Time insights look wrong

Reconnect Screen Time authorization and keep the app running briefly to refresh metrics. If still incorrect, contact support with screenshots.
